Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort, & Spa in Laurel, Maryland, is searching for Veterinary Technicians and Client Care Specialists to join our Healthcare Team and work with an exceptional team of veterinary professionals in a very fun, fast-paced family environment. We have two spacious surgical suites and one dental suite with two wet tables. We have wireless blue-tooth monitoring of our patients. We have digital radiography, ultrasound, and CAT scan as well as a staff sonographer with over twenty years experience. We have an in house laboratory. We actively use the web to enhance communication with our clients.
All Team Members must deliver compassionate nursing care, deliver excellent client service, and understand the human-animal bond. Therefore, any applicant needs to care about both animals and the people who love animals. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, leadership abilities, willingness to embrace challenges and change, and an interest in growth and development. Applicants should be proficient in multi-tasking (prioritizing and accomplishing tasks), able to effectively handle stressful situations, and always able to maintain a positive work environment. All Team members must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent telephone skills, basic math skills, and basic filing skills are a must.
Positions require broad knowledge of animal science and medicine including basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient math skills to ensure accurate administration of drugs and fluid doses. Team members must successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, and use multiple radiology techniques. Some technical team members monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures.
Previous veterinary or industry related experience is a plus (experience acceptable in lieu of certification). However, we do offer on-the-job training to Team Members new to the veterinary industry.
All Full-time schedules include mornings, evenings, and some Saturdays.
Currently a Full-time evening only schedule is also available.
