Special Education Educational Assistant We are hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional in Highlands Ranch, CO for an immediate start. This is a full-time role supporting in a special education school’s Affective Needs program through end of May, 2024. The Affective Needs (AN) program offers services for students whose educational disabilities deny them access to or progress in the general curriculum that is offered in their neighborhood school environment. This is a great opportunity to build experience, receive training, and work with a collaborative Sped team. You will also gain strategies to support students with IEPs and behavior management. This role will be 7:15-3:15 daily, with a 30-minute lunch break. Key Duties: Collaborate and consult with special education team and other specialists on various activities, planning and resource allocations for special education students. Communicate with parents and other school personnel as needed. May provide assistance in some therapeutic activities such as speech, massage, and physical therapy. May supervise students in non-classroom settings, assist and escort students, including transferring to and from buses. May assist students with a variety of daily functions, such as feeding and life skills instruction. Support Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals with special education students, assist with daily classroom or lab activities, including one on one and small group instruction. Maintain student records. Minimum Requirements: Ability to pass a Fingerprint Background Check Associates Degree or at least 60 college credits Passion for supporting young people with additional needs Additional Requirements: Additional requirements include US Work Authorization.
