Job description JOB SUMMARY: Operates machine that forms and glues flat cartons into finished cartons. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. JOB FUNCTIONS: :Adjusts forming bars to accommodate size of box to be shaped :Fills glue pots with adhesive and positions rollers to dispense glue onto paperboard :Observes machine operation to detect malfunction :Inspects cartons for flaws :SAP reporting :Make mechanical adjustments on machines to include, but are not limited to the following. :Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MECHANICAL SKILLS: Ability to pass the pre:employment Mechanical Assessment EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: All experience is considered LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: WORK SCHEDULE: Employees are required to work 12:hour (2:2:3) schedules including weekends. Overtime may be required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and occasionally required to walk. The employee is frequently required to lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift or carry 26 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to perform both functions as Feeder and Tender. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, hairnet) is required.
