Northwest Arkansas Community College is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June 30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file. After each fiscal year end the application will expire and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.Studio Art courses are a thriving part of the overall art/graphic design program. The Art Department offers courses in drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture, ceramics, figure drawing, introduction to studio art, and photography. Additionally, the Art Department offers lecture courses in Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography and Graphic Design. The current growth needs for studio art faculty are in drawing, figure drawing, and ceramics, though other media areas will be presenting opportunities in the future. If you choose not to provide an email address, please note that you will need to log back into the system in order to obtain updates regarding your application.Rate of pay: $730 per credit hourKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience teaching at a community college and understanding the community college mission is a plus. Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority. Instructional experience in a classroom as well as experience using an online learning management system like Canvas or similar is highly desirable. On-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
