Description Summary: The Licensed Practical assists the Registered Nurse in the delivery of patient care. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the LPN is responsible for administering direct patient care, treatments as ordered by the physician and administering medications as outlined by hospital policy and procedure. Requirements: Graduate of a State Board accredited Practical School of Nursing or equivalentTwo years' experience preferred.Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of LouisianaUpon hireBLS – upon hireACLS-within 6 months of hireDemonstrates appropriate care and interventions for the medical surgical patientPerforms focal assessments in co-ordination with the Registered NurseCollaborates frequently with registered nurseDemonstrates the ability to appropriately monitor and provide interventions for actual or potential patient adverse reaction to medications.Demonstrates the ability to appropriately perform on-going focal assessment and care for medical surgical patient.Demonstrates the proper use of various equipment appropriate to the care/treatment of medical surgical patients.Documentation is complete and accurate.Identifies and responds appropriately abnormal findingsDemonstrates appropriate care and interventions for the medical surgical patient Work Type: Part Time
