The prospective candidate will need excellent oral and written communications. They should have k nowledge of medical claims adjudication, adjustments and ICD/CPT/HCPCS coding. Strong customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication, ability to work independently and as part of a team, detail oriented. Education Required High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience Required : 3+ years of HCFA and UB Claims Processing experience with an emphasis on Customer Service. Job Purpose (Objective): Research and adjust claims (RAC) accurately and timely in accordance with plan documents, performance guarantees, and administrative guidelines for all lines of business. Identify and report to Sr. Manager of RAC/Recoveries, root cause of claim/system processing errors. Research and process all refunds, recoveries, and return checks which includes maintaining all corresponding documentation in an orderly manner, for all lines of HMA business. Maintain the Refund Request Log for both Mainland and Hawaii which includes the monthly generation and mailing of refund letters. Job Tasks RAC: Review, research, adjust and provide resolution and training on claims processed with errors. Adjust claims that were originally denied for requested information. Identify trends in processing/system errors and work with Senior Management to resolve root cause. Refunds and Recoveries: Review, research, and process all incoming refund checks. Send out RRL letters monthly. Offset and apply credit balances if a refund is not received. Work with Sr. Manager to identify trends so internal training can be provided if applicable. Process all check tracers, check voids, and re-issue checks. Perform credit balance research. Other Duties as assigned: including but not limited to back up coverage for Claims Processing unit.
